Black History Month & Virtual Assistants

Black History Month
Black History Month

February is Black History Month and the AVA is showing its support and celebrating our African-American virtual assistants.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. Each year Black History Month also has a theme. The theme for 2020 is “African Americans and the Vote”. This is in honor of the centennial anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment granting women the right to vote. The Fifteenth Amendment (1870) gave black men the right to vote.

Voting is a right and it is also a personal choice. The Association of Virtual Assistants is proud to celebrate and support Black History Month and the 2020 theme which is very timely.

Choosing to be a virtual assistant begins with a dream. Every person’s dreams matter. What may not be widely understood is the dreams of VAs often mean their clients have their dreams realized as well. Businesses coming together to support one another and making one another’s dreams possible.

Being a VA also means you don’t feel forced to make decisions based on what is best for your employer.  Instead, choosing what is best for you. Family, friends, and lifestyle are often the inspiration to becoming a VA.

The AVA is proud to support all its members in what they want by doing the work they love from wherever they choose. You can be a great VA business owner, the best family member, and someone who paves the way for the future – all on your own terms.

Each Association of Virtual Assistants member is making history and setting a new path for their lives and the lives of their families. This month’s blog series is dedicated to our African-American members and future members.

We see you. We hear you. We value you. You are an important part of history and crucial to future success.

Join the AVA and become part of a like-minded community.
